Busan Sky Capsule Tickets: Mipo vs Cheongsapo and How to Book

Choose the direction that fits your day, book the correct capsule size, and check that you have a dated boarding ticket rather than only an order confirmation.

For most visitors staying around Haeundae, Mipo → Cheongsapo is the simplest starting plan: begin near the beach and continue exploring the coast after the ride. Choose Cheongsapo → Mipo if you want to finish near Haeundae’s restaurants, hotels and evening plans. Either direction can work well; the available time slot and the rest of your route matter more than chasing a supposedly perfect direction.

The Sky Capsule travels about 2 km between Mipo and Cheongsapo, taking roughly 30 minutes one way. The separate Beach Train continues along a longer coastal route. A Beach Train ticket does not put you in one of the small elevated capsules. See the operator’s Sky Capsule route.

How to reach Cheongsapo before your entry window

Our recommendation is to place the ride in a Haeundae-area half-day rather than between appointments on opposite sides of Busan. If you are choosing a base, compare Haeundae, Seomyeon, Gwangalli and Nampo before assuming every attraction is nearby.

Do not read “30-minute ride” as “30-minute appointment.” The operator’s booking notice says your reservation is an entry window: enter within the selected interval, then queue to board. Waiting can run longer depending on operations. As a planning allowance, leave around 90 minutes for arrival, entry, waiting and the ride, with more room on a busy day. That is a buffer, not an operator-guaranteed total.

Current Sky Capsule prices

The official fare page lists these one-way prices per capsule:

Passengers

Capsule total

Cost per person

2

₩50,000

₩25,000

3

₩55,000

About ₩18,333

4

₩60,000

₩15,000

These are operator list prices, not a live quote for a particular date. The operator increased fares for purchases from 1 May 2026, so older screenshots showing lower prices are unreliable. A two-person ticket is the total for that capsule booking, not ₩50,000 each. Read the fare-change notice.

The cabin size is the same for two, three or four passengers. If you are traveling with infants, or have a party of five, check the operator’s current age and capacity exception before buying. Do not assume that a child can always be added to a four-person booking. Likewise, check the party size supported by the selected reseller package rather than multiplying the cheapest headline price.

When reservations open

The official booking page says that each Tuesday at 07:00 Korean time, tickets open for the Monday–Sunday week four weeks later. This is a weekly release, rather than every individual day becoming available exactly 28 days ahead. Check the calendar for your actual date before deciding that it has sold out. Open the official reservation page.

If your preferred departure is unavailable, check the opposite direction and other times you can realistically reach. The operator says a small quantity of same-day tickets is sold at the ticket office, first come, first served. Treat that as a possibility, not the foundation of a time-sensitive itinerary.

How to book directly

  1. Choose the correct product. On the English reservation page, find Sky Capsule(Mipo) or Sky Capsule(Cheongsapo). Beach Train and combined packages appear separately.

  2. Read the passenger notice. It explains the entry window and capacity. The linked booking page identifies the departure station again, so check it before proceeding.

  3. Select the date, time and ticket type. The current form uses Event Date, Event Time and Ticket Type. Confirm the passenger count and total, then check the direction one more time.

  4. Enter the requested reservation details. The public English form asks for a name, email, password and country. It explicitly marks the cellphone number optional and says you may leave it blank to receive the ticket by email.

  5. Read the terms and pay only after reviewing the order. Keep the password used for retrieval. After payment, check the mobile ticket and the departure station, date, entry window and party size. The operator says the ticket’s QR code is for boarding; the barcode is for parking discounts.

Foreign cards and reseller vouchers

The operator’s English FAQ acknowledges that some overseas cards may not be accepted because of its authentication method. That is a specific limitation, not proof that every foreign card fails. If payment is unclear, check whether a ticket or charge already exists before trying another purchase.

Blueline Park publishes an official vendor list including Klook, KKday and Trip.com. Compare the exact package, final price, direction, passenger count and refund conditions. None is automatically the cheapest for every date.

The word “voucher” alone does not tell you whether a time slot is secured. Some products specify a date and entry time; others require a separate reservation or redemption step. Read the instructions for the option you actually select. On Klook’s current Blueline Park listing, Sky Capsule options distinguish the two directions and describe the timed entry window. Follow your confirmation’s ticket link and verify the boarding details before travel.

Cancellation rules depend on how you booked

For ordinary direct reservations, the operator’s published refund scale is:

  • At least 3 days before the boarding date: full refund

  • 2 days before: 80% refund

  • 1 day before: 70% refund

  • On the boarding date, before the booked time: 50% refund

  • After the booked boarding time: no refund

Changing the schedule requires canceling and rebooking, subject to availability and the applicable fee. See the operator’s cancellation terms.

Voucher reservations have a separate restriction. The operator’s dated notice says that, for rides from 1 January 2026, voucher-based reservations can be canceled only up to three days before the ride; cancellation is unavailable from two days before. Some booking-screen wording was inconsistent with that notice when checked, so confirm the rule for your actual product before paying. A reseller may display its own cancellation offer; that should not be generalized to other tickets. Read the voucher-policy update.

Make the ride part of an easy coastal day

Book one direction first, then decide whether you want to walk, use the Beach Train or take other transport for the next leg. A combined ticket is useful only if you want the included rides and understand their boarding rules. The Visit Busan Pass lists the Haeundae Beach Train; do not assume that means the Sky Capsule is included.

Allow time for lunch, weather and a slower walk rather than filling every gap. Our three-day Busan itinerary helps keep coastal stops together, and the Naver Map guide helps you check the journey to the exact departure station.
